Initial Evaluation: a look at medical history as it pertains to the problem, which typically includes a review of family (genetic) and environmental factors as well as the character and duration of symptoms and response to previous treatments.
Physical Exam: a detailed exam of nose, throat, lungs, and skin and other areas as deemed necessary.
Specific Tests: allergy skin tests, blood tests for allergy, allergy patch testing, pulmonary function testing, X-Rays or CAT scans as well as blood tests to evaluate the immune system.
Treatment Options: allergen avoidance, use of medications, allergen immunotherapy (allergy shots) and other therapies for specific conditions.
